For those of you who do not know, I have a bit of an obsessive personality. Right now for some reason I am loving the music from Sweeney Todd. How can a play about murder and revenge be so very beautiful sounding?
I too love the music from Sweeney Todd. It is a bit eire (sp?) but it is beautiful... there is a lot of passion in it. I know it is about murder, but there is so much more behind his character and I think the music helps that message get across, he was hurt and betrayed.

I liked "Evita" for the haunting music, not for the story of the rise of Eva Peron.

The more I play the music and sing the songs, the more I am convinced that Sondheim is a GENIUS.
